Frequently asked
Choosing a photographer is a task not to be taken lightly. You want to find someone that is perfect for your family and that you can be confident will capture your memories perfectly.
I have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions I receive in the hope it helps your decision making process easier.
What type of photos session do you offer?
I specialise in fine art children and family photography. However I also offer maternity, newborn, toddler.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK?
This will depend on the session type you are considering. For newborns I encourage you to book before your 20 week scan if possible and for cake smashes at least a month in advance is ideal. For maternity session I advice to book between 30 to 38 weeks of pregnancy. However please do not worry if you you need to book a date closer than this, I will always do my best to accommodate you.
Can we have a photoshoot at the weekend?
Whist I do offer photography sessions at the weekend, spaces are very limited and get booked up well in advance. It is unlikely that I will be able to accommodate last minute bookings on a weekend.
What happens if I I’m sick on the day of my photo session?
Illness is one of those things that affects us all. If you are sick on the day of your session then it can be rearranged for another day. All I ask is that you let me know as soon as possible and then we can find another suitable date for you to have your photo session. A cancellation fee may apply if less that 72 hours notice is given.
Even if they appear well and back to normal please still reach out because it is possible they remain contagious and as other little ones visit the studio it is important to ensure everyone is protected and kept healthy.
Still have a question or what to book in?
If this list of Frequently asked questions does not provide the answer to your questions or you would like to discuss booking a session then please do not hesitate to drop me a message via the form below and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
At what age do you photograph newborns?
Ideally I like to photograph newborns within the first 2 weeks, my preference being when baby is 8 days old. However this does not mean that I can not capture beautiful pictures of your older newborn. It’s always worth dropping me a message to ask.
Where does the photoshoot take place?
All studio sessions take place in my home studio in Wickford, Essex. Outdoor sessions can also be arranged. I offer outdoor photo sessions all across Essex and London.
How long will the photoshoot last?
I don’t believe in putting a fixed time limit on your photo session, I want you to feel relaxed and enjoy yourself without having to keep an eye on the time. This is the reason why I only book one client session per day so my time and attention is completely dedicated to you. As a guide, most photo sessions last between 1 – 2 hours with the exception of newborn sessions which last about 4 hours.
